Project Giveaway

Real Card Studio is excited to offer our first blog giveaway to support the 3/50 Project! Most of the retailers that carry our line of invitations and stationery are independant owners in communities across the country, and we want to support their businesses!

What three independently owned businesses would you miss if they disappeared? Stop in. Say hello. Pick up something that brings a smile. Your purchases are what keeps those businesses around.

For every $100 spent in locally owned independent stores, $68 returns to the community through taxes, payroll, and other expenditures. If you spend that in a national chain, only $43 stays here. Spend it online and nothing comes home.

So here’s the giveaway: Reply with the name of three local independent businesses you’re going to support this month. On April 30, 2009 I’ll choose from random 1 person for every 25 unique respondents (maximum of 10 prizes), and send you a free 3/50 Project shopping tote!

Want two chances to win? Add a link to the 3/50 Project on your blog or website, and a second post here showing me you've done it and I'll enter your name twice!

Spread the word!

CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED. WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED SHORTLY. THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING!

I'm going to support my favorite little shop in my small victorian seaport city called "Summer House", I'm also going to shop at "Olympic Art + Office" and "The Perfect Season"!

I am a huge proponent of supporting local bricks and mortar businesses. Riviera Bakehouse, Ardsley hardware and our villiage grocer, Deciccios - All local bricks and mortar. I often walk there on a brick sidewalk, not yellow brick but still brick!

I work from my home which is "stucco" building my design and art business. :)

We support local whenever possible. Our local hardware store-Audette's- Papier Gourmet in Portland-whenever I go to Portland, that where I head for my special treats- papers, cards, outstanding shop, and Slate's Bakery- hands down, the best place for cookies!

The 3/50 Project is a wonderful idea! There are at least 3 local businesses I frequent on a monthly basis. In fact, I think I might print out some of 3/50 readymade flyers and bring them to my favorite local shops this weekend.
In Baltimore City specifically, I support these local independent gift stores on a very regular basis:
Double Dutch - clothing/gifts
Red Tree - gifts/furniture
Chelle Paperie - stationery
